Uniform

Our school uniform shows that we are all part of one school community, where everyone is valued equally. We aim to ensure that school uniform is affordable for all.

The only items which need to be purchased from school are the sweatshirt or cardigan and bookbag. We keep some stock of uniform items in school. In July and September it is best to order what you require as the stocks quickly run low.

We hold a stock of good condition, pre-owned uniform items in a range of sizes, which are available at all times. Parents and carers can ask at the school office if they would like any pre-owned items. We also hold 'Pre-owned Uniform Sales' at different times during the school year. We do not charge for these items, however voluntary donations can be given to our PTA (FOSS) to supporting their fundraising efforts for the school.

Our school uniform (from Nursery through to Year 6) is:

  • School sweatshirt with logo in red or blue (or black for Year 6 only) - this can only be purchased from school
  • White polo shirt/ school shirt/ blouse
  • Grey or black trousers, smart shorts, pinafore or skirt (please make sure children are able to manage any zips and buttons themselves)
  • In summer a blue/white or red/white summer school dress may be worn
  • Sensible flat black shoes with laces or a strap or smart black winter boots or plain black trainers

PE kit

  • Close-fitting black shorts, black or white T shirt and black pumps – all clearly labelled in a PE bag.
  • Long hair must be tied back for PE – please provide a hair bobble as part of the PE kit.
  • Earrings must be removed.
  • A school book bag for reading book and homework.

Outdoor clothing

Children should bring a showerproof jacket or coat in summer and a warm coat in winter. Fleece and fleece-lined waterproof jackets with the school logo are available to order from the school office at a reasonable cost, and these are optional. In snowy weather, children will need to wear wellies to school and to go out at breaktimes. They will need a change of footwear for indoors (PE pumps are fine to change into).

School can not accept responsibility for any lost items, please make sure EVERYTHING is clearly labelled so that items can be reunited with owners if they get lost.

As a school community we share some simple rules about school uniform.

  • All children must wear sweatshirts or cardigans with the Starbeck logo.  Plain ones are not acceptable.
  • Tracksuit trousers, leggings, coloured trainers, and unsafe shoes are not allowed.
  • All children should have tidy hair, in a suitable hairstyle and in their natural colour.  Make up and jewellery are not allowed for safety reasons, except for a watch and stud earrings, which must be removed on PE days.
  • All PE kit is to be taken home on Friday of each week for washing and returned to school on Monday.
